🥱 I am tired of reading pitch decks that follow a 10-slide recipe without a compelling storyline. To help founders build an exciting narrative to pitch investors, I put together an alternative to the Sequoia template 👇 Remember, you are not only pitching your business, you are pitching your ability to lift mountains and inspire people 💡 So please spend time to craft a spicy story to support your vision 🌶️ #fundraising #startups #vc #pitchdeck

Good story line but at least one more slide is needed: what's the ask/trade and how will the proceeds be spent?

I love what you suggest. The challenge for many companies (ranging from startups to long-established companies): #1 Don't have unique insights #2 Don't know who SPECIFICALLY has a TERRIBLE problem #3 Don't know how many of those people exist and what they're willing and able to pay to address their terrible problem. #4 etc. Your slides are an excellent set of framework to begin filling in when they first have an idea OR a large company when they first have an idea. stay safe. stay well. Camille Tyan I think this is great. I tend to use this motion too. However, I did experiment with a different flow as below and had some results. Start with what has changed in the ecosystem(# 4), the story of what's going on and why. After this intro then set the stage with the Cover(Why you are building this solution). This small switch works better depending of coarse who you are pitching to.

I believe that despite Human progress in all kinds of science and stuff. in the end, our core reactions lie in the cerebellum, and the functionality of this has not changed since "dawn of mankind". It takes only a few seconds to form your opinion of someone: a) Threat b) Friendly c) Opportunity. Once formed, very hard to change that perception. We act accordingly when we engage someome for the first time. If you can see the person, it is the visual apperance that calls the shot. If you cannot see the person, your audio receptors go to work. If the first contact is in a written format, then probably the work may move at least partially out from the cerebellum and into your main brain to process the information. And this is bad, because the main brain tires quickly. (My post here is an example). So, then you have to be very creative to make a short, informative and interesting text which will guide the reader to form a favoruable opinion. In all communication, you have to start here, whether to build story lines, make videos, podcasts, write emails, blogs, phoneccalls. And the darnest thing: It is not one size fits all.

I also got bored of making static 10-20 page PDF’s hoping investors weren’t day dreaming about what they’re having for lunch while scrolling. So I created this, a visually engaging and narrated video Pitch Story of how I move mountains and inspire people. https://rumble.com/v1nfhi0-mipic-2022.html If I manage to keep you engaged for 3 mins then I can bet you a coffee ☕️ all 👀 10 mins and 35 seconds is a doddle. Comments would be 🙏🏼 - 200+ hours over 19 days - Cost £300 to produce - Tools: Photoshop / Capcut & iPhone
